I am a real coupon hound and a big foodie, and when I know exactly what I want and don’t feel like thinking too much, I shoot over to my local Chili’s restaurant. However, no night out at your favorite restaurant is exactly an inexpensive experience. It can be enjoyable, but between appetizers, entrees, and two drinks, you and your date can cost quite a few bucks.
In these tough economic times, don’t be too proud to whip out a coupon, in this case, for Chili’s. I have found them online, in the newspaper, even in some magazines. Coupons aren’t just for the grocery store. You can find them for just about anything, even a night out on the town. Whether it saves you the cost of an entree (average $10) or dessert (around $8), it will take some of the pain off getting the check when it’s time to go. If you see me do the coupon-to-the-server-move, you would think I was an expert. Fact is, I used to feel self-conscious about producing a coupon for a restaurant meal.
Ask me if I feel self-conscious about using a coupon nowadays, and the answer is, adamantly, NO! Just make sure you notify your waiter or server before you start ordering so that they can get it from you and turn it in. This may take a little finesse if you’re on a date, but believe me, it can be done. Also, if you frequent a restaurant on a regular basis, it’s only a matter of time before you get a few favors from the management in the form of a complimentary drink or dessert. Chili’s just happens to be one of those places that you can find a lot of coupons for, and I am just the kind of shameless customer who will dare to use one!
